History of Happy Wheels

Happy Wheels had its beginnings as a service-only business run from home. In 2010 we opened our bike servicing business in a small space located in Kingsford. After quickly growing out of Kingsford, we re-located to Kensington and from there we had a bit more room to offer a greater range of parts and accessories, wheels, wheel hire, Focus Bikes, and finally Cervelo and Look Bikes. It wasn’t long before we grew out of Kensington and so now you can find us at Waterloo , with Moots, Bianchi, Avanti, Malvern Star and BYK added to our range. Happy Wheels also stocks a range of kids through the freestyle scooters, decks and parts.

Our crew

Drop in and you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly crew: Stew, Dave, Yaniv, Mateo, Richard, Mae, or Mireille. We have years of experience with bikes, servicing them, and helping customers find the right bike or accessory.

About Stew

Stew (Computa) Campbell – Owner, Bike rider, Bike mechanic, Bike advisor

Those that know Stew (nicknamed “Computa”) know that Stew doesn’t stop talking about bikes or racing. Starting late in life at the age of 4, his knowledge and experience on all things bikes has been obtained as a bike mechanic and through years of A-grade road / track racing, age group world championship duathlon racing, and age group world championship triathlon racing. Stew puts thought into every component that goes on a bike and the placement of each bolt, cable guide, hanger, and decal. He has extensive knowledge and has been around long enough to know the workings of the older classics while keeping up with the latest developments in bicycle technology.

Testimonials

How many bike shops do you talk to the man, who owns the shop, fixes the bike, rides like a kick arse legend and pays as much attention to your bike as if it was a bike ready to enter a pro race? Happy wheels and Computa rock nothing else comes close.

Stew (Computer) from Happy Wheels has put together and serviced all my road and time trial bikes over the last 4 years and I continue to recommend him to all. He is one of the best mechanics around and provides the personal service, cycling knowledge and attention to detail you just can’t find anywhere else.

Scott Milson, BRAT Club

I have been a customer of Happy Wheels since it opened and have always been treated with exceptional service. The willingness of Stew to go the extra mile and ensure my bikes are serviced on time and up to a very high standard has been greatly appreciated. Stew has looked after my bikes very professionally and always kept them in a condition where nothing has ever gone wrong. I have competed in many Triathlon events and the bikes have always been reliable following on from servicing carried out by Stew. I have no hesitation in recommending anybody to Happy Wheels whatever their servicing needs.

Damien Yates

After taking my bike several times to other bike shops and not being able to fix the problem, Stew was able to work out the problem in 30 seconds. Any issue with your bike – you should take it to Stew at Happy Wheels.

Steven Shein

After having my bike serviced at Happy Wheels it was like riding a new bike. I have also really appreciated the considerable time that Stu has taken to help me sort out all the different gear I need for the cycling in triathlons.

The Parlee was built by Computa at Happy Wheels Bicycle Service Centre. Stu did a great job, and allowed my to hang around and ‘help’ (I think I inflated the tyres..), extract from http://sweatandgears.com

Lex Feltham

Stew and the team have serviced all my bikes now for many years now and have just done a great job on a full build of a De Rosa. The care and attention to detail in the build is clear to see and the bike rode like a dream from the very first ride. Have recommended Happy Wheels to many in the past and will continue to do so after the great job that was done on this build. Thanks Stew & the Happy Wheels team.
